Not every skylight is worth resealing, and not every one needs replacing — the sensible path depends on what has actually failed. When the flashing or sealant is the issue and the unit itself is sound, a repair is usually the straightforward, lasting fix. When the sealed glass has fogged, an acrylic dome has cracked, or a unit is simply old and tired, replacing it often makes more sense than repeatedly chasing the same leak.
